Do you guys even know what is Simon’s cabaret? It is one of the most famous transvestite or ladyboy’s entertainment bar in Phuket Island, Thailand. Something like that. My parents went there once as part of the tour of Phuket Island. Hard to imagine what’s going on in there.

According to James Chin, one of the columnist from The Malaysian Insider, he wrote something about life and stuffs that happens in M’sia and I quote,

…..Case 3. One Bahasa daily devoted a full page to the phenomenon of Malay men who leave their wives for “pondan” (transvestite) lovers. The Pertubuhan Kebaijkan Sahabat Insan Malaysia (Sidim) chairman had apparentl had received many complaints from wives whose husbands had left them for she-male lovers. No doubt, after detailed investigations and scientific surveys, the blame for the husbands’ pondan leanings will be on the wives’ attitude. The chairman advised wives to “take care of your husbands” hearts pamper them … because in these cases some husbands say that they fall in with transvestites because they get extra services, and transvestites are more devoted than their own wives. “Now all these while I was under the impression – and I have heard our highest ranked politician say it a few times – Malaysia is an Islamic country. So how can there be a “pondan” problem among the Muslim community? What are the police doing about this national security problem? Don’t they know that the fertility rate among Malays may be affected if nothing is done to stop this problem? What happened to Wanita Umno or Puteri Umno? Do they agree that pondan issue is due to the wives?…..

Come to think about it, why would any man actually get involve with these transvestites? For me, maybe it’s just the male companionship. Some man just like to hang out bro-wise (which means hang out with other man). I’m not sure why, but I like to hang out with Kathir, E, Akil, jie and others. Trust me, I’m not gay. I compared it with hanging out with the opposite gender but I still believe hanging out with my ‘brothers’ is much awesome.

Benefits of being romantically involve with a transvestite:

1. You can openly talk about guys stuff. Say, when I hang around Kathir or E, I talk about all kind of shit but when I chat with Nadrah, I censor most of my words. Most of them.

2. She/He might even be interested in football. So far in my life, I find more topic to talk about when I can talk football with someone. You can even ajak him/her to watch football with you, extra fan behind the team helps.

3. I am not sure that girls notices this, but guys, we share something called a “BRO-code” which is a set of rules that we guys play with. Example, if you watch any reality show, girls will always bitch each other out while guys normally will stick together as a group. When guys live together, we don’t try to embarrass each other. Why? BRO-code.

4. You won’t be tempted to have a sexual relationship with him/her because it’s really gross. Maybe there are people that do, but no way for me.

5. Desperate guys can even bring him/her out and brag about how ‘hot’ their transexual g-friends or mistress are cause transvestites are normally much much prettier than a average girl. Transvestites have plastic surgery on their side.

6. I think for some guys, they find it difficult to cope with woman, living with woman. You know, ego and habits like putting the toilet seat down, flushing the toilet or commitment issues. So, maybe for them, living with a guy that has a face of Paris Hilton is a win win situation. You can be dirty as a slob but waking up to the face of your dreams.

All in all, I think this is more of a family issue. I guess man like us secretly need emotioanl support too. People have the freedom to choose, right?
